Tasting Notes

From a single vineyard, this wine has a dark and broody masculine character. Co-fermenting 5% Viognier with 95% Shiraz generates a magical combination of gentle dark fruit and floral perfume aromas of rose-petal and warm dark spice. Dense blood plum and black cherry concentration harmonise with a silky soft milk chocolate texture and flavour length. Fine French oak spice completes the palate weaving beautifully with gentle fine vanillin elements. This is a medium bodied Shiraz with loads of style and charm.

The elemental purity of this Semillon is drawn from our 50 year old estate vines on Hermitage Road. It beams with sensational intensity of lime and lemon, plus fine delicate perfumes and flavours of fresh cut lemongrass, white-flower, guava, and fejoa giving citrus-zest energy. Classically refined flavours, combining with a powder-like silkiness and wonderful length, define its pedigree and potential.

Inky Cabernet Sauvignon dominates providing black fruit layered complexity and natural tannin depth. Merlot shows vibrant fresh mulberry and mint aromas with gentle plummy softness on the palate, velvet harmony and subtle black-cherry roundness. Cabernet Franc chimes in later giving beautiful lavender-like fragrance, in partership with a touch of Shiraz, contributing structural red-cherry lift complete this blend.
